BECERA 2021 call for papers is open

Calling all sector practitioners, researchers, practitioner researchers, and PhD and postgraduate students!
The BECERA website is now open for proposal submissions and we would like to invite you all to put forward a study for presentation at our 11th Conference which will be hosted on Zoom on 16th and 17th February.
The BECERA conference is an opportunity to share your concepts and theories, and to further stimulate your thinking on your research area via peer review and discussions with like-minded people from across the UK and beyond.
This year's conference is focusing on Explorations of Pedagogy and Curricula in Early Childhood and all proposals should be submitted under one of the following strands:

4.21st Century Learning
To provide what we think is a more suitable programme for online delivery, this year we have replaced our usual presentation mode with Rapid Research Papers -these are condensed symposia presentations that must be completed within 10 minutes. Although shorter, they still must be based on academic research (rather than opinion or think pieces). Presenters are asked to distill an aspect of their current research into a short, focused presentation which addresses the overall conference theme but also the chosen symposium strand. Presenters may use slides to support their presentation but their use is limited to the use of 4 slides per presenter.
Once all presentations have been received a dedicated symposium chair will facilitate a discussion among the panel drawing out saliences and differences, and by bringing in questions submitted by the watching audience.

All proposals must be submitted via our website. You will need to set up a free account or sign in to your account (if you registered and/or submitted a paper before) and provide the following information:
- Your name, contact details and organisation
- The title of your presentation
- A 250-word abstract (addressing each element specified on the submission form)
- 5 abstract related keywords (if you are unable to pick from the list supplied, please email your keywords to and we will ensure this is reflected on your proposal submission.
Papers received will be reviewed by BECERA and, if accepted, each will be scheduled for a 10-minute individual presentation, although all successful submissions will be clustered in groups of five creating symposia.
Due to the online nature of the conference spaces for presentation are limited and the ‘strongest’ 5 submissions per theme will be selected for presentation with priority given to UK based practitioner researchers. For tips on submitting a successful research abstract, please view the EECERA guidelines  here.
All accepted papers (abstracts) will also be included in the BECERA online database (free to access to all registered users) after the event.
The deadline for paper submissions is Monday 11th January 2021.
Please note that website registration, abstract submission, or confirmation of your abstract being accepted does not automatically guarantee you a place at the conference, for which you will need to purchase a conference ticket.
Make sure you register to receive our e-mail updates or follow us on Facebook and/or Twitter.
We look forward to receiving your proposals!
